weekend with Belen

Weekends will never be the same without hangging out with a Kumare (Girlfriend), We normally listen mass together and share dinner together too, one of the recent dinner we had together was in Karate Kid.

I never get tired of eating Japanese food, its something i really crave on a weekly basis, some are sufficed but some are not since Japanese food as we all know are more expensive than the usual food we ate.But not this time, Belen, my ninang hahahahah and my kumare was the one who introduced me to this Japanese restaurant. She said eating japanese shouldn't be always expensive and now i agree.

the much talked about SOMs

Its been a long time since i last visited SOM's, I was still in a travel & tours business when i first tried their now "Famous inexpensive Thai Dish.  I remember my officemates would always set a dinner there when we wanted to splurge with thai causine without over spending. We would dine and share good laughs while getting really full with SOM's famous spicy dishes.

 MENU

loveleeeeeh :D

-more of SOM's fanatic-
most of the crowd are a mixture of diff. countries, there u see
americans, thai, indians and even Chinese locals enjoying
SOM's super winner Thai FOODIE

My starving Husband (halata nga di maka ikmyl eh)

And now wanting to have this experience again with my loveones, I my handsome husband  (naks) and a dear Friend visited SOM's (for me after 48 decades). This wasn't planned at all, the three of us went to church to hear mass. After mass we normally ate out or if not we just go home and enjoy whatever food is served. But uno was dead hungry because he slept the whole day and was not able to have his lunch even a (meryenda) snack because we have to be on time for the mass,so i said maybe we can go to SOM's after. So there ..............

more pictures while waiting

and more and more hahahahahahha:D

We arrived at around 8:30 in the evening, just in time for dinner.... a huge crowd was already there having their dose of spicy food, the line was not that long? In a snap, 1 stick of cigarette puff and then it's my turn already, good thing coz my husband is starving to death hahahahhaha. I have to share this, I noticed while waiting for our turn, there are diners who i don't know were the heck they bought those 1.5 lit of  COKE hahahhaha, even the foreign fans has there own coke/sprite with them, oh well might be in preparation for the tough tongue tingling HOT experience this Spicy Dish offers...... Anyhow ....Belen and I choose Bagoong RICE (Shrimp Paste RICE) ... why not.... we love mangoes and bagoong!

Bagoong RICE

SHRIMP CURRY  - I LIKE

My Starving UNO ordered the "To SHARE" RED Rice ... When he saw the RICE he said ... its HUGE... but when he started  eating it , he almost finish the whole bandehado (plate) hahahhaha.. Belen and I were making fun of him hahahhaha.

Belen and I enjoyed our Bagoong RICE

 Happie and FULL (burp)

mild SPICY RED BEEF, SHRIMP CURRY and RED RICE

My poor starving husband hihihiih :D

We were supposed to order Phad Thai Noodles and their Spring Roll, but were really full already.... the Bagoong Rice itself makes a FULL meal already plus the 2 Main Dishes .... GOSHI (parang wla ng Thai na lapush bukas hahahahah). What is good about Som's is that you get to choose  upto what range you can tolerate its SPICYNESS... Like for UNO his tolerance is on a medium range while for me and my kumare (friend), its actually a maximum tolerance  (hahhahahahaha).... mind u were not from BICOLANDIA but we dead love spicy food....

MY two (2) eating buddies enjoyed the Thai  SIDEWALK experienced ... they love the crowd, the ambiance and most of all the FOOD itself... Its one of the best food-place find ....

Looking forward for more of Som's Dinner with friends soon....

A Swiss Visit

Fondue... one of my favorite, name it chocolate, CHEESE or just a simple broth its Delicious. My husband and I visited Old Swiss Inn in Makati last month to try their famous fondue... We were there at 2 in the afternoon... (avoiding too much crowd). My husband and I were too excited to try their Fondue L' Agneau (australian lamb dipped in oil with variety of sauces on the side) but unfortunately it was not available. So we opt for the Waatlander Fondue (melted Gruyere and Emmenthal cheese serve with cubed bread)instead. Uno also tried their Beef Sandwich (ano nga ba yun hahahahah-kalimot).

Menu

nice nice nice
very SWISS

complimentary rolls and butter are served

Hubby is checking what's new? will be having some Sweet Endings After?or will be satisfied
with what we ate.

Open faced Beef Sandwich for my Papa Un's

My Handsome Husband while enjoying his Beef Sandwich :D

The Verdict say's my Cheese Fondue is far better than this Waatlander Fondue according to my No. fan (hihihihih) - of course my husband. But He say's its  still delicious it's just that the taste of the cheese was too strong it leaves bitter after taste.  But overall the ambiance, the crew and the food....we rate this as  8/10 :D

Is it really TENDER?

Got to taste TENDER BOB's Finest premium cut of BEEF with Wheng and  Gabrielle. This mother and Daughter tandem loves steak same with UNO and MARC they much prefer to eat meats rather anything else. My bestfriend for (counting) and I had a date, its been ages  since we last go out on a decent date.... (most of our dates was in divisoria, tiangge and supermarkets along the metro) and so we decided

Tender Bob is located at Greenbelts Sidewalk, Just beside Conti's and Gourdo's.

So Full no room for sweet endings....

Food is delicious, I'm pretty much sure my Husband and Wheng's Hubby will surely love Tender BOB's Steak, ambiance is ok ,music are more of r & b's (@ sinabayan daw nmin ng tumugtog ang IGNITIONres... momma rollin). For our Starter we have Ceasar Salad and Spinach and Artichoke DIP (bonggah nitong DIP na to... much recommended). If your a salad diva you will definitely love TB's salad.... Veggies are fresh and Crisp. If you are a cheese lover like I DO, you'll go for the Spinach and Artichoke Dip  for a start....

For the main attraction Wheng ordered T-Bone steak (well done), mine was RIBEYE med. rare..... she used to have it medium rare too but since Gabe will be sharing her steak, she opt to have it well done....

I don't eat Beef  that much since i was advise by my doctor to abstain from it, but December of 2009,the sentenced was lift and my Physician now allow me to enjoy but not too much of this mouthwatering Beefy... Do not abuse (wag daw abusuhin) since my health condition is in good shape... (yipee)....  Back to TB's experience... The steak is really moist and tender... Wheng and I even have the taste of each steak and we both love it... Now we understand why it was called TENDER BOB.....

I was never a fan of Persian and Indian Foods... (i said it before). It was always Uno who is fond of this cuisine, i guess my palate wasn't as extreme as his in terms of determining which spice is used to compliment the dish.... i love spicy foods where in chillies or called it labuyo is used as its spice, but other than that for me its something i have to embrace for the love of my husband hahhahaha..no kidding i would take time anticipating what taste it has since its cooked with tons of spices.

This day i  made sure, ill make him smile and feel he was (so) loved by dating him at Persia Grill...... Uno, often times share with me his time reading some blogsites about their food trips and gastronomic experience wat not :D he was amused seing this huge lists of small and BIG persian resto serving in the metro. Since its valentines Day and I wanted him to feel i have made an extra effort to let him feel how deep is my love for him, in my own simple way (nakampuch hahahah). Its been 5 months since our wedding and until now i feel i havent given him what he deserves for giving me the best wedding i ever dreamed...for me all the food that i cooked for him wasnt enough to thank him kaya nman as what ive said earlier... in my own little way i wanted him to enjoy and splurge to whatever little things, food, unfamiliar place or anything that would make him smile and say His Happy. :D
